Missouri opens at No. 18 in CFP rankings
The 6-2 Tigers have four games left, including three against top-10 opponents.

Missouri landed at No. 18 when the College Football Playoff selection committee released its first official rankings of the 2026 season. The Tigers are 6-2 with four games remaining.
Three of those four opponents are ranked in the top 10, giving Missouri several opportunities to improve its standing against highly ranked competition. The first test comes Saturday against Texas.
A 9-3 finish would require Missouri to beat Texas or Georgia, according to Rock M Nation’s examination of the remaining schedule. The Tigers enter November in the CFP discussion with three top-10 opponents still on their schedule.
Why it matters
Missouri has an opening position in the committee’s top 25 and multiple chances to climb. Its remaining schedule also leaves little room for another loss if the Tigers want to stay in the CFP conversation.
What to watch next
Missouri faces Texas on Saturday in the first of its remaining tests against highly ranked opposition.
