Georgia outside linebacker Gabe Harris Jr. was named SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week after recording a sack and forced fumble against Florida in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The senior made one solo tackle, with his sack producing a loss of 10 yards.
The Florida performance continued an active stretch for the 6-foot-4, 260-pound defender. Harris recorded 1.5 tackles for loss and a nine-yard sack against Western Kentucky, then added a five-yard sack in Georgia’s win over Vanderbilt. He also made four tackles, including two solo stops, against Auburn.
Harris entered the season with preseason All-SEC Third Team recognition from SEC Media, the SEC Coaches and Athlon. His official Georgia profile lists additional tackles against Tennessee State, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Alabama.
His role has grown steadily during his Georgia career. Harris played 11 games as a reserve in 2023. After appearing in all 14 games with one start in 2024, he started all 13 games in 2025.
That 2025 season produced 26 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He also registered four quarterback hurries against Texas and three against Georgia Tech, then made one tackle for loss against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

A former four-star prospect in the 247Sports composite, Harris attended IMG Academy for his senior high school season after transferring from Valdosta High School. Georgia lists him as a Sport Management and Housing Management & Policy major and a recipient of the Heyward Allen Football Scholarship.
