Florida said McCloud’s status with the program will be reevaluated after the game.
McCloud has recorded 22 tackles and half a sack across eight appearances, including five starts. His absence removes a starting defender from the No. 24 Gators, who enter the matchup 5-3 overall and 3-3 in SEC play.
McCloud is one of at least four Florida players listed as out on the initial availability report. Starting sophomore right tackle Emeka Ugorji, senior linebacker Jaden Robinson and senior tight end Evan Chieca also will not play.
Junior wide receiver Vernell Brown III is doubtful because of a knee issue. The questionable list includes fifth-year defensive end Emmanuel Oyebadejo and senior wide receiver Bailey Stockton, who has a foot issue.
Oklahoma listed 16 players on its report, with eight ruled out. Linebackers Taylor Heim and Cole Sullivan, defensive backs Dakoda Fields and Jacobe Johnson, tight end Trynae Washington, wide receiver Trell Harris, and offensive linemen Ryan Fodje and Fred Hinton are unavailable.
Sooners wide receiver Elijah Thomas and offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis are doubtful. Wide receiver Jer’Michael Carter, defensive backs Peyton Bowen and Eli Bowen, tight end Rocky Beers and defensive lineman Kenny Ozowalu are questionable, while offensive lineman Jake Maikkula is probable.
Under the listed participation designations, out means a 0% chance to play and doubtful means 25%. The chances for questionable and probable players are 50% and 75%, respectively. This was the first of four reports scheduled before Florida hosts Oklahoma at 7:45 p.m. Saturday on SEC Network.
Why it matters
Florida will be without a defensive lineman who has started five games and recorded 22 tackles. The Gators also have a starting right tackle out, while Oklahoma listed eight players as unavailable.
