Ole Miss beats Georgia in CFB27 simulation
Jay Crawford’s two interceptions helped the Rebels break a 17-17 halftime tie and secure a 31-23 simulated victory.

Ole Miss defeated Georgia 31-23 in a CFB27 simulation that matched the No. 2 Rebels, carrying a simulated 7-1 record, against the No. 25 Bulldogs at 4-4. The Rebels took control after halftime and protected a two-score lead through most of the fourth quarter.
Ole Miss opened with a three-yard Trinidad Chambliss read-option touchdown and added a Lucas Carneiro field goal for a 10-0 first-quarter lead. Georgia answered behind a 22-yard Nate Frazier run, a 28-yard Gunner Stockton touchdown pass to Isiah Canion and a pick-six, but Chambliss found Johntay Cook for a 26-yard score that sent the game to halftime tied at 17.
The deciding stretch came early in the third quarter. Jay Crawford’s interception and 21-yard return to the Georgia 5 set up Makhi Frazier’s touchdown run. Chambliss later connected with Horatio Fields for a 16-yard score. Before the quarter ended, Crawford intercepted Stockton again with Ole Miss leading 31-17.
Georgia cut the margin with a late touchdown pass to CJ Wiley, but its two-point try failed after a penalty created the opportunity. Ole Miss then ran out the remaining time.
Chambliss completed 48% of his passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns while taking three sacks and throwing one interception. Against Stockton, Ole Miss recorded seven sacks and two interceptions, he completed 70% of his passes for 339 yards and two touchdowns. Canion led receivers: seven catches for 119 yards.
The simulated line-of-scrimmage numbers favored Ole Miss. Georgia finished with more total yards and held the ball 11 minutes longer. The Rebels ran for 148 yards on 35 carries and held the Bulldogs to 64 yards on 34 attempts, while neither offense converted more than 25% of its third downs.
Why it matters
The simulation turned on Ole Miss’ seven sacks, two interceptions and 84-yard rushing advantage. Those plays outweighed Georgia’s edge in total offense and its 11-minute advantage in possession time.
